A few weeks ago, Ricki Lake surprised family and friends by pulling off an intimate wedding to Christian Evans on the beach in California! The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Montecito. Ricki wore a lace wedding dress and held a bouquet of pink flowers. The vintage inspired gown was designed by “Dancing with the Stars” costumer Daniella Gschwendtner. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Celebrity Weddings ~ Brian Littrell & Leighanne Wallace!
We’re looking back at the September 2000 wedding of Brian Littrell and Leighanne Wallace! The couple were married in front of 300 guests at the Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Leighanne had always dreamed of a fairytale wedding! To capture the fairytale, the bride and groom’s wedding bands arrived at the altar enclosed in a miniature carriage made of pure gold.
In keeping with the story book motif, Leighanne wore a satin Vera Wang beaded gown complete with a full skirt fit for a modern-day Cinderella. The champagne color of the gown was enhanced by the glow of a multitude of candles at the evening candlelit service. Brian donned a classic charcoal gray tuxedo and a dashing top hat for the event. During the ceremony, the bride’s sister read a poem with a fairy-tale theme.
The reception was held at the Four Seasons where Brian performed “You Are”, a song written by the groom to express his love for his new bride. Afterwards, the three hundred guests danced to the rhythm of a swing band and feasted on a five-tiered wedding cake embellished with touches of 24 karat gold and a chalice wedding topper. Dinner included bourbon-roasted ham and sweet-potato biscuits. Adding a masculine touch to the festivities, the groom’s cake was formed in the shape of a humidor.
Celebrity Weddings ~ Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Wilkerson!
Today we’re taking a look back at a celebrity wedding from 2004! Melissa Joan Hart married Mark Wilkerson back in July 2004 at the Grand Hotel Villa Cora in Florence, Italy. The evening ceremony took place in the hotel’s banquet room in front of just 90 guests.
Melissa walked down the aisle wearing a strapless Reem Acra gown and carrying a bouquet of purple flowers. Her younger sister played piano and performed a song from a music box belonging to Melissa’s late grandmother. The couple cried as they recited their vows at an altar of cream and white roses wrapped around two columns.
After the ceremony, the wedding party took a post-nuptial promenade through the grounds of the hotel, waving purple and white streamers in the air (a MWs favorite!)
They returned for an outdoor reception held poolside, where votive candles hung in jars from a gazebo.
For their first dance, the couple performed a choreographed routine to “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS before being seated for dinner. Dinner was served at long rectangular tables and included zucchini stuffed with Penne Alfredo and veal crusted in pastry and pineapple boats.
For dessert, Melissa and Mark cut into a three-tier pistachio cake as “Truly Scrumptious” from “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” played in the background.
Celebrity Weddings ~ Adam Sandler & Jackie Titone!
Today we look back at the June 2003 wedding of Adam Sandler and Jackie Titone! The Jewish wedding took place at Dick Clark‘s oceanfront Malibu estate in front of 400 guests.
Jackie wore a Carolina Herrera gown with spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline, paired with 1920s platinum and diamond jewelry by Neil Lane. She walked down the aisle to theme from “Life Is Beautiful.”
As a wedding gift, she gave her husband-to-be a bulldog puppy named Matzo Ball, who was pulled down the aisle in a wagon. Adam wore a black Armani tuxedo and white yarmulke, and was accompanied down the aisle by their other dog, Meatball, who carried the wedding bands on his back and was dressed to match!
The couple said their vows under a chuppah constructed of thousands of pink and white roses provided by Mark’s Garden!
Celebrity planner Mindy Weiss decorated the outdoor spaces with lanterns, votives and chandeliers hung from trees. A lounge area was set up around a fountain, with couches and ottomans for guests to relax. Following the cocktail hour, dinner was served along with a cupcake tower for dessert! Guests took turns playing video games and shooting hoops on a basketball court set up for the occasion. Adam even got up and serenaded his bride with a song that had guests in stitches.
At the end of the night, Krispy Kreme donuts were passed out as favors. Each box had a note with a picture of the couple’s two bulldogs which read, “Eat your donuts before we do.”
Celebrity Weddings ~ Mena Suvari & Simone Sestito!
?Mena Suvari married Simone Sestito at Santo Stefano degli Abissin church in Vatican City in June of 2010. The wedding ceremony was very traditional and romantic. A quartet, organist and soprano performed as Mena walked down the aisle.
Mena wore a wedding dress she co-designed with Alice and Olivia designer Stacey Bendet. She wore Claudia Ciuti shoes and Nova Diamonds earrings. Simone designed the couple’s white-gold wedding bands himself.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle (the same venue where Tom Cruise and Kattie Holmes were married). At the reception, guests enjoyed risotto, raviolini and veal carré dishes. The floral arrangements and decor, both at the church and the castle, were done by Adriano Ceccoti. The couple’s first dance was to an original dedication by Mario Reyes, a.k.a. the Gipsy Man, performing with members of the Gipsy Kings. The evening also featured a fireworks display!
Celebrity Weddings ~ Marcia Cross & Tom Mahoney!
With 220 guests in attendance, Marcia Cross married Tom Mahoney on June 24, 2006 in Pasadena, California. The couple exchanged traditional vows and although unexpected, the ceremony included a loud laugh when the groom’s cell phone accidentally rang during the vows! Marcia walked down the aisle on the arm of her parents. She wore a custom Reem Acra gown and clutched a bouquet of white roses and white peonies. She was joined by five flower girls carrying silk dupioni baskets and tiny bouquets. Her sister, Ellen Cross, played acoustic guitar and sang Paul McCartney’s “Only Love Remains.”
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel in Pasadena. The ballroom was transformed into a cocktail lounge and area for dinner and dancing. The lounge was decorated in all white, with couches, ottomans and vases of Casablanca lilies, tulips and peonies. The main ballroom was decorated to resemble the flower shop where the bride and groom first met. Large trees were set in each corner and centerpieces of pink tulips, white tulips, hydrangeas, burgandy roses and pink roses were set on each table. The couple shared their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James, a playful nod to being married for the first time in their late 40s. Dinner featured filet mignon and sea bass. Dessert was a five-tier wedding cake decorated with roses and hydrangeas. In addition to the cake, a self-serve candy bar was set up for guests to load up on saltwater taffy, jelly beans, rock candy and chocolate-covered strawberries (LOVE THIS!!)
Later in the evening, in a twist on tradition, only married couples were invited onto the dance floor to participate in the bouquet toss. Each couple was eliminated one by one until the pair married the longest — over 50 years — got to keep the bride’s bouquet. As guests retired back to their hotel rooms, they found pillows on their beds embroidered with “Sweet dreams. XO, Marcia and Tom.”
