DIY ~ Creative Thank You Signs!

A favorite DIY idea is creating a fun thank you sign to hold up during your wedding photos! What a great way to personalize and create a fun thank you card for your guests! So many great ideas come to mind so today we’ve highlighted just a few! And you don’t necessarily have to be all that crafty to make one! It can be as simple as a white sign with black lettering. Or if you’re really feeling up to the challenge, stencil and cut the letters out of card stock, string together and voila! A DIY thank you sign! Not only is it clever and creative, but it’s sweet for your guests to have another token reminding them of your fabulous wedding day! This is also a fun and creative way to show off your personalities! Cut out larger letters and get the entire bridal party in on the fun! Chalkboard signs can be incredibly cute too! Especially if you’re already featuring other DIY chalkboard ideas as part of your wedding ceremony and reception. And don’t forget about customizing burlap! So many fantastic ways to use burlap in your wedding décor! Now you have the perfect backdrop for a thank you sign. If your wedding invitations feature a fun and artsy font, enlarge the font, cut it out and now your sign can match your wedding invitations! Perfect if you featured fun western themed fonts on your invitations. And here is one last idea you can create well in advance. Simple iron-ons are a great way to create a fun and memorable thank you sign! Iron onto two matching shirts and use as part of your engagement shoot. You can make your own home-made favours using this local product. If your wedding is this summer, look into when the best time to gather strawberries is. You can offer up adorable little baggies filled with fresh strawberries! Perfect for guests to enjoy at a casual wedding with an outdoor reception. They even make for a cute favour at rustic weddings! You can personalize each bag with a DIY thank you label and a fun thank you message! Look for small wooden baskets and fill with strawberries and even a fresh baked goodie! Makes for an fun little take home treat! You can even include the recipe on how to make the baked goods with your thank you tag. Guests will love the extra added attention to detail! For brides who love chocolate covered strawberries, this makes for a fabulous wedding favour! Get your family or bridal party together to help make these sweet treats! You can decorate them any which way you like and you can even create adorable matching bride and groom favours! Or have some fun and make several different designs. You can offer them up in cellophane wrapping, tied with a stylish ribbon in your wedding colours. You can even have a few extra passed around during cocktail hour for guests to enjoy right then. DIY ~ Heart Accents!

Here’s a super cute and super easy DIY idea that can inspire an endless amount of uses! DIY Heart Accents are a perfect way to add specials touches of love to all of your wedding day details. Starting with sewn hearts, perfect for crafty brides! You can cut and sewn fun little hearts together! Perfect to add to that adorable flower girl’s headband! Or use them as part of a DIY napkin ring! Another fun idea is gathering environmentally friendly eco paper and cutting out mini hearts to use at your ceremony or reception. You can even punch out mini hearts and make your own Eco-friendly confetti! With the larger hearts, you can string them along trees for an outdoor ceremony. Use them to line your aisle or as part of the décor for your signing table. You can even cut out larger hearts to use at your reception! Makes for a cute addition to a candy or dessert buffet! You can even add letters to each heart and spell out LOVE! How cute would that look behind your wedding cake! Another fun idea is making your own bird seed favours in the shape of hearts! DIY ~ Lace Accents!

If you’re thinking of ways to add small but lovely details to your wedding, think of ways to incorporate lace into your special day! If your wedding gown features a lovely lace detail, carry that through to you wedding décor! Start with your wedding invitations. What a great way to add some extra detail with a soft lace border. Simply wrap the lace around the invite and secure with a ribbon or glue. Works perfect with single style invites or pocket folds! Another great idea is to use the lace on your reception stationery! Create a stunning escort card display using old vintage frames and some lace strung from end to end. Secure the lace to the frame and use pins or clothes pins to attach the escort card to the lace. You can even wrap lace around your place cards for an extra added touch. For crafty brides, make your own vintage inspired lace boutonnieres. Gather the lace together to form a flower, tie with a ribbon or sew it for extra strength and add a wonderful jewel embellishment. DIY ~ Buttons! Buttons! Buttons!

If you’re wedding theme is more vintage, here’s a fun concept to add to your décor! Buttons! What a great way to add an extra detail to your special day. Buttons make for a cute idea for escort or place cards! Create your own and add a button as an embellishment. You can find small white tags at your local paper or craft store and with a couple of vintage buttons stuck or sewn on, this makes a great DIY project for crafty brides! Another fun idea is to create your table numbers using buttons. Glue them to coloured card stock or fabric in such a way that they form the number. Use either all the same buttons for a cohesive look or use a variety of different colours and sizes for a really unique look! Buttons are also a fun embellishment to add to your wedding favours! You can sew them on to fabric bags, glue them on to boxes or tie with colourful ribbons. For for brides who love to sew, create your own Ring Pillow made with buttons. Use them all over in the same colour as your wedding colours for a DIY item that matches your décor perfectly. Your ring bearer will look adorable carrying a button pillow down the aisle. And if you really want to take it one step further, make your own bouquet with different colour fabrics and buttons for the flowers! You can even cut the flowers out of fabric in different sizes and layers and sew the buttons in place to hold even flower in place. Once you join all of them together in a bouquet, the result will be amazing!

Looking for a DIY idea for a fun or casual wedding? Check out these awesome little DIY Mini Flags! So many great uses for this idea! Starting with cupcakes! If you’re planning on serving cupcakes at your wedding as your favours or even as your dessert, make your own mini flags to place on each one! You can really have some fun personalizing these cute this flags. Use different coloured papers or patterns and mix and match. All the different patterns together will really draw the eye to a fun cupcake dessert bar! You can personalize them with your names, your initials, your wedding date or have some fun with them and use cute little words to describe your happy day! They also work great for appetizer trays! List the name of each appetizer on these tiny flags. Guests will love the extra attention to detail. Or use them as your place cards! You can list the guests first name or full name. Have each one placed at each setting, either as part of your favours or simply placed on a napkin. Another fun photo this would make!
