You found the one so now you need the dress! Wedding dress shopping can be one of the most overwhelming, exhausting and rewarding things about your wedding. Here are a few helpful tips to tackling dress shopping!
First, be honest and strict with your budget; we’ve all see the shows where brides try on and fall in love with dresses three times their budget, unless you are willing to start cutting the cost from other categories, don’t make this mistake! Tell you consultant your maximum budget and stick to it!
Do some research to figure out the styles and designers that you prefer. Your consultant will definitely ask what you might be interested and they will certainly point you in that direction but be open to what might be more flattering. They have seen hundreds of brides and dresses and will be able to offer suggestions that may work better for you! Don’t choose just based off the current trends or what you’ve had your heart set on for your whole life, sometimes it just doesn’t work that way and it is ok!
Once it’s time to shop think carefully about who you are bringing with you. Just because you have 7 bridesmaids, god mother and two grandmas doesn’t mean they all have to join you! Only bring the people who know what you are looking for, how you want to feel and overall have yours and only your best interest in mind. Too many opinions can be confusing and disheartening so limit the amount of people you bring!
You may not have that “bridal” moment, there might not be tears or tingles but when it is your dress you will know and stop shopping!! There will always be something new or different but once you find your dress stop looking and shopping you will just confuse and frustrate yourself and it’s not worth it. Trust your heart and choose the dress that is right for you!
