We are back again with more Planning 101 advice – the importance of taking engagement photos! There are lots of reasons why engagement photos are important not not just to announce your engagement, although that is a perk!
First off it is a chance for you and your fiance to become comfortable together in front of a professional camera. Sure you may have 100 couple photos and a handful of selfies together but those aren’t the same as getting professional photos taken, it is a completely different experience and one you both will want to be comfortable with on your wedding day. This will also allow you the chance to get familiar with your photographer and their shooting style, they will likely be spending 8+ hours with you on one of the most significant days of your life so it’s important that you know what to expect! The more comfortable and relaxed you are with your photographer the better both your engagement and wedding photos will be!
Another perk is getting to see how you and your fiance photograph together and which angles and poses you prefer as opposed to those you don’t. Then you can let your photographer know long in advance which shots you like and which you would like to avoid!
Your engagement photos aren’t just for the two of you either, they can be used on your save the dates or invitations and they can also be given to your parents and family to enjoy as well!
You will find that once you see your engagement photos you will have more confidence and be excited and you will look forward to having your photo taken and seeing the final product instead of nervously anticipating how they will turn out!
Happy Planning! xo
