Who wants dessert!? Choosing your wedding baker can be a fun and tasty experience but it can also be a shock to the system, and we don’t mean a sugar shock! Wedding cakes can be quite pricey and rightfully so, there is a lot of hard work, time and talent that goes in to creating an edible masterpiece!
You first need to determine if you are looking for a cake, cupcakes, donuts, macaroons, mini desserts, etc.. You also need to consider budget, style and design, flavours and portion size. Once you do this you can research vendors in your city that provide what you are looking for. Be honest about your budget and take the time to research all of your options but of course remember that like with everything else in the wedding industry, you get what you pay for!
Be sure you are asking the right questions such as “how long before my wedding date will they be made?” “Do you deliver and set up?” “How does my venue cut and/or serve this?” “Have you worked with a wedding of my size before?” No matter what you decide, you want to ensure that your sweet treats will be freshly made and to your specifications! Attend a tasting and sample the flavours your baker has to offer. Get drawings, photos or written confirmation of whatever you choose to make sure that what you are ordering and paying for is exactly what your guests will be enjoying!
