Our Real Wedding ~ Susan and Brian!

We have another amazing Real Wedding today! We met Susan and Brian about a year before their fabulous wedding! Their plans were unique right from the beginning with the nuptials and first reception taking place in gorgeous Banff, Alberta! Susan and Brian came to Madeline’s for all their wedding day needs! We took care of their linens, stationery and candy buffet!

Cool details about this wedding – love the ceremony and pictures in the mountains! Absolutely love the carnival shots too! Another is the adorable Just Married sign on the back of the truck!!

Hats off to Blair J. Photography for these gorgeous images! WOW WOW WOW! What an amazing backdrop this wedding had! And a shout out to The Floral Fixx for the amazing flowers you see! We love their vibrant colours!!

The Manitoba celebration was just weeks after their mountainous moments! Their reception was held out at Lakeview Resort in Gimli, MB. With their wedding palette of Plum, Lime and Ivory, Madeline’s went to town design the perfect custom décor design for their reception! The guest tables featured ivory pintuck floor length linens with ivory chair covers, lime green satin runners and plum napkins. Susan and Brian chose Madeline’s Signature Head Table Décor with a unique twist! We had the members of the bridal party facing each other on the stage! Here we used ivory pintuck floor length linens, plum chair covers for the bridal party and lime green chair covers for the newlyweds!

Another special detail Madeline’s created for our couple was a mirrored table runner! Here we placed tons of speciality glassware and candles all along the mirror runner. The result was simply gorgeous!! Their candy table with their ADORABLE cupcakes featured an ivory pintuck linen with lime satin runners. Madeline’s also custom designed a fun Love is Sweet sign for our happy couple!

In addition to the Love is Sweet sign, Madeline’s custom designed all of their fabulous wedding stationery! We created a fun design that featured their lime and plum colours and carried it through all of their stationery. We created their wedding invitations and matching respond cards and accommodation cards. We also took care of their reception stationery which featured table numbers, menus, and place cards! Their place cards were colour coded to represent the different meal options for guests. Madeline’s not only took care of the design, but the set up of a place card table as well! Here again we used an ivory pintuck linen with lime satin runners. We also designed a sweet Signature Drink sign for their reception! “Something Blue” was the signature cocktail of the evening and a hit with guests!

Thank you again Susan and Brian for choosing Madeline’s Weddings to be a part of your special day!!

Sweet Indulgences!

We can’t get enough of adorable edible favours and we LOVE it when couples think outside the box! For example, love popcorn? Why not offer it up as part of your wedding favours! Look for mini packaged bags of popcorn and create your own DIY thank you label to wrap around the package! Mason jars fit in perfectly with vintage weddings! Fill each small jar full of your favourite popcorn flavour. If cookies are more your sweet craving, check out these adorable mini cake cookies!! How cute would these look at each individual place setting. Or spread them out on one large table and guests can pick them up as they arrive at your reception. You can even create a DIY Escort Card tag to attach to each one – now they work as favours with escort cards! Looking for a healthy alternative? Whip up your favourite batch of home made granola! Sure to be a huge hit! You can even include the recipe as an extra special touch! Fill mason jars with the granola, add a fun fabric to the lid, a DIY thank you label and you’re all done! Here’s something new, bottled honey! Love this idea! So many cute sayings to go along with this one! If you prefer a good cup of tea, make that your wedding favour! There are plenty of ways to package tea in an cute favour style. Or if you want something spicy, check out these awesome hot sauce favours!! What a great idea for a casual outdoor reception! Another favourite are lollipops! Such a cute idea! Especially when you dress them up with a fun bow that matches your wedding colours! Once last edible favour idea comes in the form of cupcakes or mini cakes! Dress them up any which way you like! Guests will love them! There are so many edible favours ideas! Have fun with it and choose something that suites your personalities!

Siuleen and Ari ~ Engaged!!

We are soooo excited to share today’s engagement story and photos of our happy couple Siuleen and Ari!! They did a fun “notebook-movie-inspired” theme for their shoot and just we LOVE this idea!! These photos are incredibly gorgeous and we have the amazingly talented Nghia Tran to thank for that!! We absolutely love these photos and CAN’T WAIT for their big day!!

Read on for Siuleen and Ari’s proposal story!

Our Story…

We started writing in matching journals to each other a while back—Ari has his journal which I would write an entry to him and I have a journal where he writes to me. We write to each other every few days to make sure we are continually keeping the communication in our relationship going. We found that with living together, sometimes with work, chores, the dog and life in general, that we would forget to tell each other the things we noticed and appreciated. Some days you just need to hear that the little things you do count!

In mid-March, Ari came home from work and wanted to have journal time. We sat down and I opened my journal to read the entry he had written. I proceeded to read the page filled with beautiful words of the things he loved about our life together, the hopes he had for us as a couple and the gratitude he felt for having found each other. At the end of the passage, he directed me to bookmark the page for later with the journal’s ribbon bookmark. I flipped the ribbon over to find a fake ring attached to it (which he had handcrafted himself out of gold rolo wrappers and paperclips) and when I looked up to ask, “what’s this?” he was on one-knee with a beautiful ring and asked me to marry him…of course, I said YES!

We can’t wait for their wedding photos!!
